Dear Stakeholders,
It is with great pleasure that I present to you the first Sustainability Report of C. Tessile S.p.A.: a document that is not merely a collection of data, but a milestone in our corporate journey. It represents an achievement of profound significance, which we celebrate with full awareness of its importance for our future.
Tessile S.p.A.’s path towards more responsible resource management is deeply rooted in our corporate culture. For us, it means above all awareness, responsibility, and respect—values that extend not only to production processes, but also to the way natural resources are used. This commitment is shared by all those who work in our facilities, as well as across the entire supply chain, from the selection of raw materials to the delivery of finished products. We believe that the constant pursuit of low-impact, innovative fibers and processes has always been one of the cornerstones in developing high-quality products that embody the company’s intrinsic values.
We operate in an ever-changing economic, social, and environmental context, marked by global challenges such as climate change, resource depletion, and growing economic and social inequalities. Our industry, in particular, is called to greater transparency and accountability across the entire value chain, as it is considered one of the most impactful in terms of water consumption, waste, emissions, and the exploitation of workers upstream in the supply chain. This Report reflects the activities and progress made during 2023—a year that brought its own specific challenges, shaped by market dynamics and external impacts, requiring resilience and adaptability. In this context, we strengthened our commitment to sustainability, recognizing it not only as an ethical duty but also as a key driver of long-term growth and competitiveness, transforming challenges into opportunities for development.
This first Report summarizes the actions taken to reduce our environmental footprint and to promote social well-being. We have continued to select only high-quality raw materials to create long-lasting garments, in contrast with fast fashion, which exacerbates many of the industry’s existing issues. We have maintained several product certifications—such as GOTS, OCS, and GRS—that give tangible expression to our values. Our credo, Creating together side by side, reflects our willingness to design and produce exclusively for our clients, through an operating model that significantly reduces waste and surplus production.
At the same time, we have committed to fostering an inclusive and safe workplace, valuing people and contributing to the development of the communities where we operate. This Report therefore serves as a fundamental tool to measure, monitor, and continuously improve these initiatives, while providing a solid foundation for defining our next steps.
Indeed, this first publication is not an endpoint, but the opening chapter of a journey that will require dedication, innovation, and collective collaboration. Looking ahead, we have set ambitious goals: further reducing our ecological footprint, developing products and processes with an ever-lower impact, and strengthening the supply chain through a vertical integration strategy, enabling us to build a more complete and easily traceable value chain. In this regard, we intend to continue along the path of product traceability, fully aware of the opportunities offered by developing an internal monitoring and tracking system. Among our other goals are the gradual replacement of our company vehicles with hybrid cars, the calculation of PEF on our most representative articles, and the improvement of textile waste management from internal processes. To this end, we have laid the foundation for the creation of an ESG office—staffed with a qualified and skilled team—capable of responding to future market and EU requirements, ranging from audits to traceability, from providing technical data requested by clients and ESG questionnaires to waste management and the drafting of this very document.
This journey, however, would not be possible without your support and dedication. I would therefore like to express my deepest gratitude to all our employees—the true beating heart of C. Tessile S.p.A.—for their commitment and passion. A special thanks also goes to our clients, partners, and suppliers, who share with us the vision of a more sustainable future and accompany us along this transformation.
We firmly believe that by creating together, side by side, we can address global challenges and build a better future for all. Sustainability is not merely a choice, but a shared responsibility that unites us.
Simone Canclini

Energy efficiency represents one of C. Tessile’s top priorities. The company introduced several solutions to improve the energy performance of offices and logistics sites: replacement of chillers with heat pump models, installation of automated systems for humidity and environmental parameter control, and optimisation of air-conditioning systems.

In addition to certified yarns, C. Tessile develops alternative and innovative fibers upon client request, including nettle (introduced in 2021), hemp, and viscose derived from bamboo and crab. This flexible portfolio allows for “on-demand” design, aimed at reducing waste and improving environmental performance.

The approach to human resources management is based on principles of non-discrimination and equal opportunities. All hiring decisions are made uniquely on competence and merit, regardless of gender, orientation, or origins.
Female representation in top management positions is 40% and 58% across the total workforce.

For many years, the company has been carrying out solidarity projects in collaboration with universities, schools, and local institutions. Many students visited the company in order to gain insights relevant to their field of study and to collect information for educational purposes. In addition, C. Tessile donates fabric scraps to schools, non-profit organizations, and other entities, which are used in educational and social projects.

C. Tessile implements a rigorous and transparent approach in the communication of sustainability data to clients and external stakeholders. The shared data are verifiable and consistent with the monitoring level currently in place, which prioritises objective information and clear methodologies. In order to respond with a structured approach to the growing European regulatory requirements and to market expectations, an ESG Department has been established, responsible for defining, implementing, and monitoring environmental, social, and governance strategies.

The governance monitoring tools implemented by C. Tessile reinforce an approach focused on transparency and risk prevention. Since November 2023, a whistleblowing system has been activated. It is accessible through the corporate website, allowing employees and stakeholders to report potential violations anonymously and securely, in compliance with EU Directive 2019/1937. To date, no reports have been recorded. Furthermore, C. Tessile is committed to tackle corruption through the implementation of the “Model 231”, which contributes to preventing unlawful conduct.
